Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Well worth the money, excellent product I am using this tuner card currently on my desktop PC. I purchased it as an experiment to see if I would like to build a Home Theater PC at some point, and the results have been spectacular! It has dual tuners, so I can watch and record something at the same time, or record two shows at once. I am using Windows 7 Media Center, and I do not intend to install the Hauppauge software at all, as WMC does everything that I wanted and more.
I had thought about getting a cheaper card to experiment with, but I am very pleased that I bit the bullet and got the pricier one. I cannot speak for any other TV Tuner Cards, but I do know that this one is absolutely excellent quality for picture and functionality. Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Painless install and smooth function I use this dual tuner with Windows Media Center to record over the air hi-def shows.I use a Harmony One remote control in place of the provided remote for system integration.Playback is run through an nvidia 9800GT via HDMI to a 60 Sharp Aquos. Video quality for me is excellent.I do not watch live shows unless it is the evening news which I can watch through the Sharp's tuner leaving two tuners for simultaneous recording. Installation was very smooth and automatic which is a vast improvement over two previous Hauppauge products namely an HVR-950Q and a HD PVR1212.
To install WinTV v7 on a PC or laptop without a CD-ROM drive. Buffer bar size; Fixed TitanTV tvpi file association bug; New WinTV-NOVA-HD-USB 2 driver to.
Watch out for how close the card is to your graphics card as it may inhibit air flow and require another case fan.The remote is not universal and will only add to table clutter. Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from A great value and fun to install I had an existing computer with a Hauppauge card in it and have been enjoying tv on my desktop for years. I bought a reconditioned windows 7 computer for my daughter and wanted to give her a treat so I purchased the Hauppauge 2255. Trudoemkostj rabot lada largus. The card was easy to install and I am very satisfied. The only glitch I ran into was that the CD I was supplied with did not have HCWCIRConig_Tool.exe. This would allow the remote control to work with Media Center.
But I went to the Hauppauge web site and downloaded the file. My daughetr will be thrilled. Rated 4 out of 5 by dalejoe from Love this card! Built my own HTPC and used this card. I'm dumping pay tv and using a digital antenna because I only watch mostly local channels and the main ones broadcast in HD so the shows I watch are just as good and the pay services.
I can record two shows at the same time so I don't miss any shows and the remote works good except no way to use it for turning my TV on/off. I liked their software but it would freeze up at times so I and using Windows Media Center with no problems. Remote sometimes lags in response but it works nonetheless.
