This model MD 81299 does in fact have a 'auto search mode'. You select TV mode and then select the round power on/off button or Prog (channel up/down or something else. Then select 'search'.
It goes through - 1 per second - through the codes. Slight caveat is for 350qty though.!
But this stupid TOBO, has some pretty impressive power save features Pressing menu, brings up the menu (contrast, brightness etc), for about 8 seconds (Yes! That's 8 seconds - not 5 or 10), or when on AV1 or AV2 or TV Channel mode (white noise background), it then goes into a nice big red TOBO word in the middle of the screen, then after it powers down. So i've got to sit here pressing damn butttons, and i never know if i have interrupted the code sequence or my fingers have blocked that 'correct' signal, etc!
